The Walu manual safety cover is now available to order. It is available in two models to cover almost any pool. The Walu adds safety and can eliminate the need for both solar and winter covers. Manufactured to French standard NF P 90-308, the Walu has a maximum weight capacity of 100kg (approx 15.5 stones / 220lbs) and is extremely easy to install and operate.

Unlike other safety covers the Walu has some quite unique features:

• Exclusive patented system allows individual composite panels to be replaced without compromising safety, should they become damaged - for all other systems the whole cover needs to be replaced.
• Adjustable and lockable anchor straps positioning so you can choose the most effective fixing point.
• All fabrics are reinforced flexible composite with an anti abrasion treatment.
• Half round anodise aluminium support poles.
• Stainless steel fittings throughout.
• Complete with crank handle - can be operated from either side - extra cranks available to allow two person operation.
• Shaping for step section and ladders available.
• Range of colours in both opaque and translucent fabrics available.

Sizing: Covers are made 0.4m (approx 16") larger than the pool size on length and width. Please ensure these additions are made when pricing

The Walu Safety Cover can be manufactured to suit almost any pool. Incorporating step sections and roman ends is no problem and they are priced in proportion to the size required. Steps in the traditional positions along the width of the pool are covered by a section attached to the main cover. Steps affixed down the length of the pool require a separate section plus a support bar to make the section safe and allow the main cover to travel over the opening of the step. Ladder cut outs are tensioned all the way around the rail slits to ensure the safety of the cover is not compromised. Shaped and freeform pools can also be cover with the Walu Evolution – details measurements must be supplied and a shaping surcharge applies.

Whilst the Walu Safety Cover is designed to be a fully functional manual safety cover, two methods of easing it’s operation are available. The Walu-Matic Powered Crank handle offers the standard operation of a crank handle but without the manual effort. The 24v back-geared motor is powered by a re-chargeable nickel-cadmium battery (20 minute re-charger included) and all mechanism and handles are reversible so the Walu-Matic can be used on either side of the cover. Used for retracting the cover only and for covers up to 11m x 5m.

The Walu-Move is designed to raise the leading edge of the cover away from the pool and therefore reducing the effort required in moving the cover onto and off the pool. The wheel system lifts the cover and turning the vertical crank winds the cover and runs the wheels back down the pool. For covering the pool, simply pulling the central pulling strap easily draws the cover back onto the pool. When covered, the wheels are pivoted onto their end allowing the cover to be tensioned.
